Learn to Sail
Aberdeen Stonehaven Yacht Club is an RYA recognised training centre. We extend a warm welcome to all who want to race, learn to sail or improve their sailing techniques. We also offer a variety of informal training for our members, including regular race coaching and youth training sessions.
Junior Sailing
Junior Sailing runs on Saturdays and Sundays from April - June with a Beginner group on Saturdays and an advanced/racing group on Sundays. Our annual Junior Sailing Week runs 1st to 5Th August 2017 at Stonehaven (dates may change).
As a RYA recognised training centre, we are keen to see our Junior Sailors racing both at ASYC and further afield. Check the website or contact Ditta Neumann (Ditta_Neumann@yahoo.co.uk) for more details, to sign up or to offer help and support to the programme.
Boats for rent
ASYC owns a fleet of dinghies, which are available for use by members. The fleet comprises:
- Optimists
- Toppers
- Lasers with both full and radial rigs
- RS Feva
- Blaze
There is a charge for using club boats of £5 for a single hander and £10 for a double hander, but under 18's are free.
Members who are unsure about rigging or sailing any of the club boats should consult a member of the committee.
The OOD must be informed if members are taking out club boats.
